Alex White

I am an award-winning Development Executive overseeing the documentary slate at Samphire Films, specialising in premium factual series and feature documentaries for the global market. A prolific originator of ideas, I have a strong track record of securing commissions for Netflix, Discovery+, Channel 4 and the BBC, alongside extensive production experience up to Senior Producer level.

Prior to joining Samphire Films, I spent several years at BBC Studios where I secured some of the company’s first original commissions, including The Anthrax Attacks: In the Shadow of 9/11 (Netflix), Fatberg Autopsy: Secrets of our Sewers (Channel 4), and The Edge of Science (YouTube Originals).

I continued to focus on premium documentary development, going on to develop and produce Secrets of the Salisbury Poisonings for Discovery+ and The Stormtrooper Scandal for the BBC. While at The Garden Productions, I developed the company’s first Netflix factual series, Attack on London: Hunting the 7/7 Bombers, which won the Bulldog Award for Best Streamer Series and was released to mark the 20th anniversary of the attacks.

I am passionate about making purpose-driven documentaries that engage broad audiences across pop culture, contemporary history and true crime. My approach centres on securing unheard voices and unseen archive, and I have built a reputation for identifying globally resonant stories with scale, ambition and a clear editorial point of view.
