Meron Gaudet

I’m a Canadian factual producer with a love for unscripted film and television. I’ve built my career around finding stories that are culturally relevant, unexpected, and spark conversation - whether that means securing exclusive access and archive, identifying strong IP from podcasts and articles, or shaping ideas in development as audience tastes and the industry evolves.

Before joining Samphire, I developed premium documentary series for leading broadcasters and streamers including HBO Max, Amazon, Discovery+, and Peacock. I’ve been part of the creative development team on a number of upcoming 2026 releases including Running Smoke(CBC), Uncover: Cult Queen of Canada (CBC Podcasts), and In with the Old (Magnolia/HBO Max). Prior to that, I worked at Nutopia, helping to build out a slate of large-scale documentary series and specials for premium platforms including History Channel, Smithsonian, Disney+, Nat Geo, and Netflix.

I began my documentary career in Canada, working across both development and production on projects including the viral Netflix hit Catwalk: Tales from the Cat Show Circuit, the feature film Level 16, and Pass The Salt (CBC), which won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Science or Nature Documentary.

I grew up on the remote fishing island of Sointula in the Pacific Northwest, then later spent a decade in Toronto immersed in the music scene , writing for VICE’s Noisey and working on the creative and marketing team behind the rap battle league King of the Dot, which has amassed over 400 million views and featured prominent returning guests such as Drake and the Wu-Tang Clan. The combination of living in a village of fewer than 500 people to living in one of the most diverse cities in the world continues to influence the kinds of communities and subcultures I’m drawn to exploring on screen.
